coffee in Austin. April 1, 2008
i
simply can't make it past 11am without at least one cup of coffee. i depend
on the bean - and i don't mind. it's a hobby for me now. i've been home roasting
coffee since July 2003, ever since a chat over lunch with some friends prompted
me to place an order for some green beans and start my search at the thrift
stores for a hot air popcorn popper. since that first sip of my own roast,
i've never looked back. i've learned a lot about coffee and i owe it all mostly
to Sweet Maria's.
i've yet to find a better site for learing about (Tom doesn't fool around!)
and buying coffee beans. it's very clear to me that the owner's have coffee
in their hearts.
okay - so where's all this coffee talk going? well,
i've decided to start working on a casual but detailed guide to coffee in
Austin. i've started gathering a list of names and locations and am finding
out there are more shops here than i thought. it'll take some time to organize.
i want to provide information that will get you to the shop with the atmosphere
you want along with (much more importantly) the best cup-o-joe.
stay tuned.
